Ionic Air Purifiers

March 27th, 2010

One thing that has been grabbing the attention of the masses lately is ionic air purifiers. These air purifiers are strikingly different from the standard ones we are used to. The technology seems to work a lot more efficiently.

Have you ever stopped to think about all the things you are constantly breathing in? I know its not something I do often, after all breathing is so natural we don’t have to think about it at all. This doesn’t change the fact that there are all kinds of potential risks present in the air.

I’m sure you have never taken into consideration all the things in the air in your home or office. We all, almost rightfully, have a mindset that the air in these places is very clean. This isn’t always the right mindset. There are many different impurities in the air that could cause health risks even in our homes.

Even though we spend a bunch of time cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting our homes there is no way of knowing if the air is actually clean. You can’t really see the little particles in the air with the naked eye. These particles could include dangerous bacteria and all kinds of other health risks.

Because you now know about these dangers, there are certain steps you can take to protect both yourself and your family. The easiest way to clean out the air is with an ionic air purifier. This newer technology doesn’t use any filters or other conventional means. Instead it creates ions which grab the particles in the air and stick them to oppositely charged plates. All you have to do is wipe down the metal plates once in a while.

There are also kinds of ionic air purifiers that don’t have plates and instead force the dangerous particles to stick to the ground. If you ever get one of these you will notice almost immediately that you will need to dust a little bit more often. Just remember that you may have breathed in all of this extra ‘dust’ when you are cleaning.

One of the things that people seem to always underestimate is the effect constantly inhaling dust particles actually has on the body. This can cause serious respiratory illnesses such as asthma or even cause allergies. If you already have one of these problems there is a big risk that they will get worse over time.

Another great place to use a ionic air purifier is in your office. You can buy one for just your office, or if you are in a large office building you can have everyone pitch in to have one installed. You should remember that these not only clean the air, but they can also get rid of smells, reduce allergies, and even completely eliminate the smoke from cigarettes or candles.
