Easy Techniques For Natural Skincare

July 14th, 2010

In a world here you are worrying about having enough time to eat right and exercise; sometimes it is easy to forget how import skin care is. Skin is your body’s natural protector and it needs proper care, and you don’t need all those fancy or high priced products to get that. Natural skincare is something you can do with a few simple things in your kitchen affordability. All you need to remember is the three simple steps of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing every morning and night for a healthy look and feel to your skin.

Cleansing is an important start of skin care. By doing this, you clean the skin from make-up, clean the pores, and exfoliate the dead skin, which can block pores if not taken care of properly. It is essential that you clean your skin at least twice a day, morning and night time. If you’d like a deeper clean, steam your face after you clean it to open up any clogged pores.

Creating your own cleanser at home is easy. One to try is the oatmeal scrub. You just grind up some oats in a grinder or food processor till they are fine like flour, pour a little bit in your palm and add some water to create a paste. Using your fingertips, massage this into your face and throat, then rinse when done. Oatmeal is perfect for the skin because it absorbs and removes dirt and impurities. It will gently clean and exfoliate at the same time, leaving the skin feeling smooth, soft, and clean.

Toning will stimulate the pores and help with blood circulation and can lessen the appearance of wrinkles. It cleans the impurities and removes the excess oil, which is especially needed if you are in contact with harsh conditions and dust daily. This also prepares your skin for conditioning and moisturizing.

One home-made toner that can act as an astringent is one made with cucumber. Simply blend a half cucumber, a half tomato, and one fourth cup of vodka till it is smooth. Apply this to the face and neck area, leaving it on for about five minutes before rinsing with warm water. Any leftovers that you have can be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container.

Moisturizing and conditioning the skin is considered a very important step. Your skin loses its ability to retain water as it ages, which is why it dries out and gets wrinkly. Moisturizing will prevent that and restore the acid balance and correct any imbalances. It is best to make sure the face is moist in order to get the most effective benefit of moisturizer before applying.

When choosing a moisturizer you need to take into consideration your skin type. A simple at-home moisturizer for normal skin can be made from mashing half a banana with a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of sour cream. You can then apply this to your face and let it on for about ten minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. Honey is perfect for making your moisturizer at home because it draws in and retains water.

With the proper products, whether home-made or store bought, and dedication, your skin can look and feel healthy in no time at all. Natural skincare is something you can easily do with things you already have in the home, affordably and simply. Depending on what your skin type is, there is always a recipe for the right moisturizer, toner, and cleanser, right at your fingertips.

All-natural Solutions For Reducing Lines About Your Eyes

June 23rd, 2010

Have you ever wondered why we are so prone to wrinkles around the eyes? You might have already heard that because there are no oil glands surrounding our eyes, they become especially delicate so we need to keep that area as moist as possible.

Many women spend thousands of dollars each year trying to prevent eye wrinkles by purchasing product after product. You need not do this as there are cheaper alternatives out there. For example, Rose hip oil is a great natural product that you can use to protect the delicate skin area around your eyes. All you have to do is simply dab a small amount to your wrinkles each night before bed. The Rose oil can help prevent moisture-loss and it doesn’t cost a lot either.

Did you know that fruits are excellent sources of vitamin C as well as nature’s most effective wrinkle fighting agents? They are not only effective but extremely affordable and safe to use on a daily basis. The pineapple fruit is well known for its effectiveness in removing wrinkles. Take a small piece of the fruit and rub this on your eye area then leave it for about 15 minutes until it dries. For the best results, follow this routine nightly before bed time.

Stress is one major cause of wrinkles. Stress not only reduces your immune system, but prevents normal bodily function – notice how worried people always have way too many frown lines? Try to get some regular exercise as that will help to reduce stress levels considerably. Getting enough sleep is also extremely important so make sure you get a minimum of eight hours per night.

Always try to keep your fluid levels up as much as possible. Your body needs plenty of water to function properly and if you don’t drink enough of it, wrinkles to the form and not only that, the rest of your body deteriorates as well. It is advised by medical professionals they you drink at least 12 big glasses of water daily (and more if you sweat a lot or exercise).

Organic Products: Grass Fed Cattle

May 5th, 2010

Much of the cattle used to produce tasty, tender beef are fed with grass. The advantages of grass fed cattle are far superior to those consuming diets laced with chemicals and other additives. Believe it or not, these facts are upheld by hundreds of years’ worth of research, indicating that grass fed cattle are a far healthier choice.

Despite the likelihood that the beef you purchase is grass fed, care must still be taken. Unless you go out of your way to be certain and do your research, you may be in for a surprise. The differences in cattle’s diets on consumers are not small ones. For starters, research in various nutrition journals indicates that grass fed beef is lower in fat, a major contributing factor to overall cardiac health, instance of heart attacks and early onset heart disease.

Those who are keeping track of their cholesterol can have the peace of mind, knowing that grass fed cattle will be better for them. But it isn’t only the heart that is affected by choosing one type of beef over another. Vitamins A and E and other nutrients may be higher in the grass fed beef.

Of course, the taste test is an important factor when choosing food. Luckily, those who ate grass fed beef typically reported that the meat tasted far superior to other types of beef. Not only that but they weren’t exposed to dangerous chemicals. Although research is still being done, there has been evidence that the chemicals given to some cattle may result in early puberty and hormonal changes in children and young adults. This is simply another strong reason to choose grass fed cattle.

Of course, use of chemicals and grains results in a higher fat content beef product that consumers are trained to regard as better. However, this move was not made with consumer health in mind, but rather as a cost-saving measure. As such, it is essential to be proactive in making healthy food choices, as many producers are generally focused on the bottom line rather than health.

The grass fed to cattle is typically healthy and organic. This results in less stressful lives which, in turn, translates to a healthier beef product. Furthermore, grass fed cattle don’t generally get hormones and antibiotics in excess of those mandated by law. Many consumers rightfully don’t wish to consume these, as they often do far more harm than good. While it is impossible to avoid all antibiotics in the beef we purchase, those given to grass fed cattle are generally less than the quantities given to other varieties.

One issue of major concern when using antibiotics with cattle is the very real possibility that the animals will develop resistance to the medications. Once this happens, disease can spread through a herd and some of the cattle could be turned into beef products eaten by customers. That may even raise the risk of beef recalls. Grass fed cattle are far less likely to develop these types of resistances and the meat simply tests better, making it a win/win situation for the consumer.
