Semi-Permanent Eyelashes Are Perfect For Any Occasion

July 17th, 2010

Anyone can wear semi-permanent eyelashes. Because they are attached to your existing lashes, similar to hair extensions, they make your lashes longer, thicker and fuller without any of the risks of permanent eyelash implants. Ideal for a special event, or just to alleviate the fuss of applying mascara in the mornings, semi-permanent eyelashes can be a boon to many.

It is time consuming and tricky to get your eyelashes looking fabulous, what with curling, brushing and then trying to apply mascara without clumps and smudges. Most people find they don’t even need mascara with semi-permanent eyelashes. People who have lost their eyelashes in an accident or through illness can also benefit from semi-permanent eyelashes, as can swimmers and other sporty people who want to look good without the raccoon effect when their mascara smudges. Even if you have sensitive eyes you can get semi-permanent eyelashes, as a medical grade bonding agent is available that will minimise any reaction you may have. Because the extensions are attached to the lash and not the skin, there is very little contact between the adhesive and your skin anyway.

The technician at the salon will attach each extension to your existing lashes using a bonding agent, and may apply a sealant to strengthen the bond and prevent breakage. Semi-permanent eyelashes are made from artificial materials, but because they are flexible and weightless, you won’t notice the difference – and neither will anyone else. This is assuming you’ve selected a colour close to your natural lash colour, not the brightly coloured options that can be used for a dramatic effect for a night on the town. The different lengths and thicknesses available give you an even wider selection to choose from.

Your eyelashes have a natural growth cycle of 3 to 6 weeks. This means that within that time, lashes will naturally fall out and new growth will come in. Of course, the extension will only last as long as the lash does. If your semi-permanent eyelashes are for a specific occasion, you may want to have them removed after two or three weeks, before they start looking patchy. If you want the semi-permanent eyelashes on for longer, it is recommended that you have touch ups every 3 weeks to fill in any gaps and keep the lashes looking full.

Semi-permanent eyelashes are relatively maintenance free once applied, and you will find that you don’t have to apply mascara, although you can if you want to – just make sure you do not use waterproof mascara. You should not rub your eyes, however, as this can break or loosen the bond. Avoid oil-based make up or toiletries such as cleanser, make-up remover or make up, as these can weaken the bond as well. Make sure that your semi-permanent eyelashes are applied by a trained technician using sterile equipment. The eye area is extremely sensitive, and you should be provided with a cornea shield to protect your eye.

What are semi-permanent eyelashes? A boon to women who don’t have the time to fuss with eyelash curlers, brushes and mascara every morning, a godsend for those who have lost most of their eyelashes due to illness or accident, and a fabulous way to make your eyes your best feature at a special occasion. For longer, thicker, fuller lashes without the smudges, inquire about semi-permanent lashes at your salon.

Why You Should Consider Gel Nails

July 17th, 2010

False nails of some sort have been popular for a while. In their various forms, they allow women who struggle to grow their own nails to have long, attractive nails. Some types of false nails, however, not only look fake, they damage the natural nail beneath them. The advantage of gel nails is that they do neither.

Made from a pre-mix of polymer and monomer gel, gel nails are applied to the nail and then cured in one of several ways. Light-cured gels are cured under UV lights, no-light gels are cured by brushing or spraying a gel activator onto the gel nail – a quicker process than sitting with your hands under UV lights. Gel nails are quicker to apply than acrylic nails, as there is less filling. The mixture is odourless, making it a more pleasant process for the technician and yourself.

They are thin, clear and flexible, making them look and feel more natural than acrylic nails. Gel nails, unlike acrylic nails, do not lift as easily. They don’t yellow either, which means that you don’t have to polish them to hide the unnatural colour. Gel nails are also glossier than acrylic nails, and you can apply nail polish to them as well. Gel nails also work well with a French Manicure or other nail art designs. In fact, the options with gel nails are limitless.

Gel nails should be applied in a salon to ensure the difficult process is performed properly. Although less time-consuming than acrylic nails, it is difficult to perform the application procedure on your own nails. Gel nails do not damage the underlying nail, and do not need to be soaked off in acetone that damages the nail as well.

You can use gel nails to enhance your natural nails until they grow. Although they are said to last for less time than acrylic nails and may be a little more pricey, the lack of nail damage makes up for it. Acrylic nails can do so much damage to your natural nails that you cannot grow them out and find that you have to repeatedly apply acrylic nails to hide your damaged ones. Gel nails are more of an enhancement than a replacement for your real nails, unlike other types of false nails.

Long, well manicured, attractive nails make your hands look better, and since our hands are constantly exposed to the world, most women prefer to keep their nails looking as good as possible. Gel nails protect your nails, allowing them to grow out healthy and strong while keeping up appearances. Instead of waiting months for your nails to grow, hoping none of them will break, you can have gel nails professionally applied and polished to lengthen short nails or strengthen weak ones, allowing them to grow. Natural looking, causing no damage to your nail – that’s why you should consider gel nails.

April 21st, 2010

Beauty salon offers the following extra cosmetic treatments: facial, body massage, pedicure, manicure and ayurvadic treatments. beauty treatments in our Dublin based salon

Facial cosmetic treatments are for the face and the main process of beautifying the face involves masking, cleansing, threading, scrubbing and many more. The most commonly sought treatments for women are threading of the eyebrows to make them sharp, eyeliner and mascara application, lipstick and cosmetic cream. For men, we see that they provide treatments like smooth shaving, lotion wash, beard and mustache grooming. They also provide packs like mud, extracts from fruits, vegetables and herbs and also the peel off masks made from different agents.

Pedicure: Pedicure is about cosmetic treatments which are done on feet. This includes cutting and shaping of toe nails, foot massage and application of lotion to make skin smooth. Foot massage is specially done under the foot to remove dead skin. Pedicure includes area up to knee caps so in some beauty salons it may include waxing and leg massage.

Like legs, hands need to be cared in similar ways and these processes are termed as manicuring. It involves the use of massaging, application of lotion and cream, nail polish, nail shaping and cutting and the application of artificial nails. Artificial nails are of two types which are made from acrylic materials and gel type materials.

Hair should be properly taken care of, by special methods offered by reputed and approved treatment centers. Treatments involve steps like hair cutting, styling, dyeing, shampooing and conditioning; artificial straightening of hair is done for those who have very curly hair. It is done with wax conditioner and special ironing methods. Out of these two methods, people prefer the waxing method as it is gentler and mostly gets results that are permanent.

Usually in beauty salons, spa is being provided as a part of the treatment as most of the people are under strain in this world of stressful events and hectic working atmospheres. The treatments of spa can be useful in treating stress and strain, with the help of providing good and peaceful environments for the mind to get relaxed. Win Him Over On Your First Date

April 10th, 2010

It is always a good idea to establish eye contact when you are out on a date, sometimes it just lets him know that you are listening to what he has to say, if he has a tendency to waffle on a bit, just keep smiling politely.

Always make sure that you have plenty to say about yourself too, try and show yourself in a good light without going overboard, the last thing he wants to hear is somebody blowing their own trumpet with anything to back it up, if you can maintain his interest then all is good.

A lot of men are very choosy about the kind of girls that they like, do not be too annoying and bossy, it could very well scare of any potential date.

Try to be yourself when out on a date, there is no point trying to be something you are not.

Never try to exaggerate things, as long as you are natural things should go smoothly.

Not all men have the courage to make the first move, some feel that they may scare you off if they try to hard, do not be afraid to take the upper hand, never let an opportunity slip away.

Not all men are experts at reading the signs, it may be unfortunate but it’s true, they are not all experts in the romantic stakes.

It’s not always a good idea to wait for the man to ask you out, sometimes they might like it if the woman did the asking out, if you really like him then go ahead and ask.

This is the age of equality, so it does not matter who makes the first move. The important thing is that somebody makes the first move.

Rehabilitation Through The Use Of Engineering

March 22nd, 2010

Rehabilitation engineering is the systematic application of engineering sciences to design, develop, adapt, test, evaluate, apply, and distribute technological solutions to problems confronted by individuals with disabilities. Functional areas addressed through rehabilitation engineering may include mobility, communications, hearing, vision, and cognition, and activities associated with employment, independent living, education, and integration into the community.

While some rehabilitation engineers have master’s degrees in rehabilitation engineering, usually a sub specialty of Biomedical engineering, most rehabilitation engineers have undergraduate or graduate degrees in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering. A Portuguese university provides an undergraduate degree in Accessibility and Rehabilitation Engineering. Qualification to become a Rehab’ Engineer in the UK is possible via a University BSc Honors Degree course.

The rehabilitation process for people with disabilities often entails the design of assisted devices such as walking aids intended to promote inclusion of their users into the mainstream of society, commerce, and recreation.

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assisted Technology Society of North America, whose mission is to “improve the potential of people with disabilities to achieve their goals through the use of technology”, is one of the main professional society for rehabilitation engineers.

Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers conduct research in the rehabilitation engineering, each focusing on one general area or aspect of disability. For example, the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute conducts research for the blind and visually impaired. Many of the Veterans Administration Rehabilitation Research & Development Centers conduct rehabilitation engineering research.

Within the National Health Service Rehabilitation Engineers (REs) are commonly involved with assessment and provision of wheelchairs and seating to promote good posture and independent mobility. This includes electrically powered wheelchairs, active user (lightweight) manual wheelchairs, and in more advanced clinics this may include assessments for specialist wheelchair control systems and/or bespoke seating solutions. Professional registration of NHS Rehab’ Engineers is with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).

The U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in programs conducted by Federal agencies, in programs receiving Federal financial assistance, in Federal employment, and in the employment practices of Federal contractors. The standards for determining employment discrimination under the Rehabilitation Act are the same as those used in title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This is not a new form of engineering. All the age old engineering branches are somehow related to rehabilitation engineering. It’s just that in the past few years the work on it has really escalated. With more people knowing and working on it, it is good news not just from the social aspect but also from the aspects of a needy person.

Straightforward Physical Exercises To Enhance The Vertical Jump

March 20th, 2010

Basketball players always intend to improve their vertical leap. It is because they idolize the famous and awfully amazing NBA players, doing dunks that are fit for a power-house treatment.

To be ready to do such power dunks and at the same time, improve their play, basket ball players do a few particular exercises that could considerably improve their vertical leap.

Here are some of the most suggested exercises assembled to help you enhance your vertical leap.

1. WARMING UP

Before beginning exercises, warming up your muscles would be important. Do stretching correctly, or jog around even for just a few mins.

Use a jump rope. Jumping ropes definitely help in conditioning the body.

Run up and down the steps for a while. It could be a extremely handy and simple warm up, or can also be treated just like a full exercise. However, do not do far too much of it as you may eventually wear out your legs. You may use it as a fast heat up, in a few cases, a full exercise.

2. JUMPING EXERCISES

The following simple and easy-to-do exercises are specially designed for jumping.

A. Deep Knee Bends. Stand up, Bend your knees in a slow motion while at the same time ensuring the back is kept straight. Then, crouch down slowly to the farthest you can go. Repeat the task for approximately fifteen times. If you choose to execute the exercise on a regular basis, increase the repetition to 20, then 30 and the like. Doing such would ensure the power of the muscles in the leg portion are stronger by a level.

B. Perform the Toe Raises. Stand up, then elevate your leg until you might touch with one hand the tip of a toe. Pull down and repeat on the other leg. Do the motion slowly. Make 30 to 50 repetitions for this easy exercise.

C. Stomach Crunches. Regular sit ups would not be useful, but an adaptation to the belly crunches would be effective . To do that, lie down the floor, ensure the back is strictly straightened. Then, rise up by at first lifting the shoulders from the floor. Do the easy task for ten minutes, in the morning and at night.

Moreover, the previously mentioned straightforward exercises would certainly help those who want to improve and increase their vertical leaps.

Organizational Advice To Go By

March 14th, 2010

Some of you, like me, will remember when we lived a slower pace of life. Now everything seems to whiz past in a blur. It’s time to take a step back and regain control.

We all need structure in our lives and goals to aim for. Without directions we veer through life and frequently go off the rails, your goals will give you a purpose.

You must think about your goals very carefully. Make sure its something that you can definitely accomplish and set a date that you must achieve it by. Don’t let your imagination run riot as these aren’t goals; they are fantasies.

Don’t, whatever you do, set yourself goals that can’t be achieved in a set time. This includes things such as wanting to improve yourself as a person, stick to the ones that are achievable.

Think of yourself as a baby taking their first steps. It takes time and effort and you should set yourself a time span of approx 2-3 months.

Here are a few helpful hints for those doing this for the first time, and cover a variety of situations.

If you like walking. Why not set yourself a target of walking a set distance in a certain time, such as half an hour. Or you may want to improve your memory, maybe even save up money for something special in that set amount of time.

Planning a party, trip or event is a great first goal. Or sorting out that junk cupboard that you keep pretending isn’t there, even learning to cook or mastering a new hobby will give you great satisfaction.

Make your first few goals short term until you have got the hang of it, then take on bigger challenges over a longer period of time, this also teaches you commitment. Best of luck in all your goals and look forward to a life with direction.

Australia is home to one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world: Sydney. Mid-Atlantic States and the Great Biking Paths

February 13th, 2010

The mid-Atlantic states are known for being fairly hilly and rocky. This makes for some really fun and challenging bike trails. Here are some of the finest in the area.

Hartwood Acres, just outside of Pittsburg has a little something for everyone. Experienced bikers will enjoy the quick switchbacks, downhill slopes, tough climbs and lots of root and log jumps. Hartwood Acres has over fifteen miles of trails including beautiful rock gardens and an unbelievable Tudor mansion to explore. The trails are free but there is a nominal fee for checking out the estate.

A stone’s throw from Waverly City, OH is the Scioto Trail State Forest. With over 26 miles of gravel and dirt trails, there are plenty to choose from. The skill levels range from beginners to experienced, but the trails are shared with pedestrians and horseback riders. Be sure to come prepared with water!

The Freedom Park near Williamsburg, Virginia has three loops that total about 5 miles. There are a number of short, steep hills and a fairly long straight downhill section. There are a few log obstacles and even some bridges to cross, but not too many roots. Beginners might find it a little daunting, but it can be done by a novice if you’re up for it!

If you are looking for a place to sharpen your technical skills, the Kennison Mountain Trail in Richwood, West Virginia is the spot for you. This loop is filled with mud, a rocky singletrack and steep downhill slopes. With 8 miles of training, beginners had better bring their “A” game.

Bryson City, North Carolina has quite a few biking trails, Thompson Loop and Mouse Branch are among the mid-atlantic’s best. There is a small fee to ride either of these trails but a yearly pass is available for only fifteen dollars. Be careful when you arrive however, because bikes are only allowed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Thompson Loop is almost 8 miles with lots of logginf roads and some steep climbs. You’ll be rewarded for the effort with a mile long descent that has some cool banked curves. You haven’t had this much fun since you were ten years old.

Mouse Branch is almost 7 miles long and has fewer climbs but some pretty fast downhills. There is a scenic overlook that makes a great resting spot. The southside trail used to be called Tour de Dump but is now redone and winning biker over everyday. It is lightly used so it’s a great place to practice and is nice and simple for beginners.

Don’t miss an opportunity! The mid-atlantic states are a great place to bike, especially with the family. It is a fun, healthy and inexpensive way to take in some beautiful sites and bond with the kids.
